Sunday Postcard: Kullu-Manali, India

Confluence of rivers Beas and Parvati, near Bhuntar, Himachal Pradesh
I got a chance to take the photograph of the Sangam of these two (probably) sacred rivers – Beas and Parvati, on my way to Manikaran from Manali. Not only the colour difference between the two rivers is enchanting, but also the way there’s an almost straight line of colour gradient at the place where the rivers meet. Does that mean that the speed of water of the two rivers is very similar?
The best part is that the bridge that crosses the combined Beas river is just over the confluence, that you get a chance to stop your vehicle, and have a minute to yourself to admire the beauty of nature. This bridge is very close to Bhuntar airport, set in a deep valley whose peaks are thousands of feet higher than the runway, an easy way to reach Kullu-Manali from Delhi.
