Improvements in roads and transport facilities have resulted in an increase in the overlap between the rural India and the city-dwelling-photographers. Which resulted in this photograph, from a hot day, spent on riding on a scooter exploring the countryside near Bangalore.

I have written about Gokarna and its beautiful sunsets before. But the place was so beautiful, that I have dozens of images of sunsets I saw in Gokarna, from the wide variety of beaches that this little twon on the west coast of India boasts of. So, here’s another one.. as seen from the ‘Full Moon beach’. Enjoy! 🙂

When I visited Kanyakumari 2 years back to visit the southernmost point of mainland India (more about it here), I stayed at the Vivekananda Kendra (website link here) – which is an Ashram (which is a hermitage/monastic retreat which offers simple and peaceful accommodation facilities for vistors). The stay was very pleasant and enriching- it felt like going back to the basics – I didn’t do anything particularly spiritual like meditation or fasting, but the simplicity of life was simply enchanting.
The ashram was also very clean, spacious and pretty – with words of wisdom literally spread around in form of notice boards with quotes like these..
Indeed. How often do we stop and think about these things?

I spotted this ‘Blue Tiger’ butterfly at the butterfly park in the Banerghatta National Park (close to Bangalore) about which I have written before.
Thankfully, the butterfly was still able to fly and I was lucky to get this shot before it fluttered away looking for other photographers trying to capture its beauty 🙂
Butterflies are so pretty, aren’t they? 🙂
