About

I am a 25-year old engineer, working as a business analyst – who loves to travel and write – I love to walk and explore new places and find hidden treasures. πŸ™‚

As a kid, I travelled around the country with my family and watched Globetrekker (then broadcast as ‘Lonely Planet’ in India) with great fascination. Then, after finishing college, the travel bug (yes, the super-cliched word) bit me in earnest, and I travelled to nothernmost region of India (Kashmir and Ladakh) and to the southernmost point of India (Kanyakmari). I made my first solo trip and made new friends while traveling.

In all these adventures, a trend started emerging from my observations during travel:
(As quoted by an anonymous traveller about India) – It is beautiful, scary, magnificent, mind-blowing, distressing and amazing.

I couldn’t agree more, and now that I have moved to Nottingham (UK) and started traveling outside India – across UK and Europe (and hopefully more around the world in future), it has given me a great opportunity to observe the life and culture of both India and these foreign lands that adopt me as one of their own as I wander along..

β€œThe whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.”
– G. K. Chesterton

Small step for mankind, large steps for dinosaur-kind? πŸ˜€

  1. Love the name – I Drink My Tea Sweet. Reminds me of drinking cutting chai on a street corner in Mumbai.

    • Thanks Neha! Oh yeah, cutting chai – I was addicted to it! In England, where there are plenty of tea varieties to be found, I am yet to find the equivalent of the lovely cutting chai!
Am curious though, why is it called cutting chai?

    • Thanks Shivya! I wouldn’t call working for a Tourism Board a ‘typical’ job if one’s travel-crazy! Does it let you travel more than a ‘normal’ job? (I hope so!)
You have a LOT of posts.. so much to go through for me! πŸ™‚
